My daughter has arrived! It’s a bit of late notice, but my daughter was born almost one week ago. I couldn’t be a happier person (and now a dad).

Britt and I are so happy to have a healthy little girl.

This all started because Britt wanted to paint the baby’s room. Because we lived in a rental at the time, we couldn’t paint the room. So we figured painting furniture was the next best thing.
So Britt went on the hunt and found a desert while I was down at POST. This beauty.
Now I’ll be honest. I was skeptical of this dresser and Britt knows it. But we pressed on.
First I tried to sand it and strain it. Terrible idea. So we scratched that plan. Then the next hurdle was finding handles that weren’t so…well…ugly. Because it’s old as balls, it had a goofy size.
Like I said, I was skeptical…well Britt, in her infinite wisdom, came up with the solution, which seems obvious in hindsight. Fill the holes and drill new ones.
So we did.
Next was primer.
Don’t forget the drawers.
Next was the deep brown paint for the dresser.
You can see the drawers in the bottom right.
And the almost finished product.
I think we will add some Dr. Seuss flair to the drawers or something. And some type of book holder on the sides.

Dad had his mailbox run over. So he wanted a new one with some pop.
Taped it off and painted some white stripes.
Added “Gunderson” to the side. It was a pain because I had to do it with a razor blade.

Jeeesh. Has it been this long….
So much has gone on since I last posted on here.
I’m back from my 10 weeks in Boise. I have a baby GIRL about to be born. I’m about to buy a house. I’m currently living in Potlatch, ID. and I have an awesome wife (yes, you B. Maree). Holy crap, 2013 has been a crazy, yet stressful, year.
I have had an absolutely uneventful summer. I have been consumed by work, which was to be expected this year. Next year I plan on spending every waking moment at the hideout. Especially since I plan on living within 15 minutes of the hideout, rather than 60. I am so happy that I can just go out to Meadow Creek without having to plan a whole weekend around it.
Dogs are good. Maclin is as crazy and annoying (at times) as ever. Axel still doesn’t care what goes on, as long as he gets his food at 5pm and 4:30AM (which is really annoying, by the way).
Shout out to my buddy (and Groomsman) Austin who proposed to his long time girlfriend Michele.

I built a cabinet for my work locker. my father in law helped me out. Here are the pictures.
