RIP Nissan

When I got up this morning at 3:30 to get ready for work, I checked my phone, and had a text from my dad. He had informed me that the Nissan finally puked its  guts.

Now for those of you who are not familiar with the Nissan, it is my 50$ Nissan I bought just before my senior year of high school. Who would of thought it would of lasted me that School year, let alone an additional 5.

Oh the year I had with that thing.  And who can forget the time Evan Sapp and I put it on it’s side screwing around after batting practice. Then I had to wake dad up to help me get it back on 4 wheels, oh he was pissed.

Well, it’s not officially dead yet, but its defiantly on life support.

have a good one y’all

Weekend Movie Review

awwww…must be my work weekend.

Killer Elite (3 out of 5)

An assassin flick similar to Tinker Tailor Solider Spy (Which wasn’t my favorite movie). It’s based on true events in the 1980s. It wasn’t too bad. Pretty fast paced, lots of action, unlike Tinker Tailor Solider Spy.  Worth a watch, not a buy.

The Way (4 out of 5)

Great movie. Watch it. that’s all I’ll say.

Weekly Eagles Update

I figured I would start a new segment. The weekly Eagles update.

As many of you who eventually read this know, I am all about Philly.

The major news of the past week was that the Eagles agreed to terms on an extension with RB LeSean ‘Shady’ McCoy. Britt and I were lucky enough to see him last year when Philly played Seattle (and lost).

So in the past few months the Eagles have taken care of their own. Resigning players such as Trent Cole and DeSean Jackson.

The Hideout Update.

First off, I wanna congratulate my buddy Austin in graduating from Electrician school. Graduation party was fun Saturday night. Sunday Morning wasn’t so fun, but Terry greeted me with a cup of coffee. At least I didn’t wake up on Britt’s parents bathroom floor. Congrats Bud

Anyhow, I had taken some rocks up to the Hideout earlier in the week and Shaylah was nice enough to help me created a better firepit. She did a good job.

So it turned out pretty good.

after Shaylah and I got this pit all together and my camping stuff unloaded, we called it a day.

Then Dad helped me out up there for quite a bit. we got some rock (from the creek) and laid it around the fire pit.

The high priority of the day was to build a small brick BBQ out of the leftover brick from last years BBQ Pit project. So we started it. And as we learned last year, and learned again this year, we are not a family of masons….(excuse the blurry picture)

And then we added some creek rock to our normal kitchen area. (you can see the finished brick BBQ off to the left) [again excuse the blurry pix]

After we got that finished dad and I cut up some fallen trees and got some wood stock piled. then we cooked some camp improvised dinner.

Then Cooked it on our improvised stove (since our BBQ was still drying)

After dinner I cut up one more fallen tree, and then came the rain. I slept in the tent for quite a while, but then at 3 am the Thunder and Lightning came. and it rained some more. so after a quick breakfast I finished filling the horseshoe pits and got the heck out of there. I did get one good picture of the camp in whole.

It’s still a work in progress, but its starting to come together.

The two big things that need to happen are A) we need to figure out a way to get across the creek, and B) build a small foot bridge to connect main part of the camp to the horseshoe pits on the left…over the small ditch.

I am kinda anxious to put up a trail came and see if I can catch some wolves going through our camp while we are not there. There have been multiple sightings down the road at Jack’s.

until next time

Operation; Find Cope

Today B. Maree called me at about 9am to tell me that her brother’s dog (Cope) had gone missing. Well, beings that I was low censused from work I figured I’d go help out with the search efforts. Oh boy…I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.

After about 4 hours of searching B. Maree and I decided it was time to go back to her parents to get some lunch and hatch out another plan. After eating a quick meal we decided we would return to the stretch of highway he was last seen. Assuming the worst after 4+ hours of being missing, we started combing the ditches. I went one way, Terry (B. Maree’s mom) and B. Maree went the opposite direction. Well I went searching and was under a railroad bridge; then under the bridge that crosses the Palouse river. Then I started to hear someone call “Cope! Cope!” I just assumed it was B. Maree and her mother, but then I saw somebody, at the rock pit near my buddy Zach’s house.

When I looked up to see who was calling Cope’s name I realized it wasn’t B. Maree, it was one of Brittany’s Brother’s friends who had joined the search. And she had spotted and had caught, none other than Cope. I ran to her to assist with the catch, and boy oh boy did he fight. Cope was so scared he didn’t wanna be taken by some stranger that he bit me. right on the hand. damn dog.

But we got him home safe and sound.

He was obviously a bit taxed from such a long day out in the elements and was starting to get overheated when we found him. But luckily we did find him when we did.

B. Maree checking him over for wounds. He got into some barbed wire at some point. it was really the only thing he had wrong, and considering the truck traffic on Highway 95, he’s damn lucky to be alive.

Operation Find Cope was a success, luckily. He is back at B.Maree’s parents house and is already making himself at home again.

Thanks to everybody that helped find him today.
